"We Paint...Parks" Exhibition

“We Paint…Parks” is on display November 4 through December 4 at the Showers Atrium in City Hall. The show is a year-long cooperative effort between the Bloomington Watercolor Society and Bloomington Parks and Recreation.

Meet the artists at the opening reception November 4, 5-7:00pm. Harpist Maggie Grove, a recent graduate of the IU Jacobs School of Music, will provide music.

A percentage of sales will benefit Parks and Recreation.
The exhibit may be viewed during regular City Hall hours.

The show consists of photos of murals painted in the streets of Cairo. There was an explosion of public painting in Cairo following the popular uprising that eventually ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. The works represented in this show have considerable artistic interest, and they are a significant assertion of the Egyptian people's new freedom to express themselves on political topics in public.
